San Francisco Giants Have One Powerful Question Left to Answer This Offseason
This offseason was the dawn of a new era for the San Francisco Giants. President of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi was relieved of his duties after the regular season and replaced by Buster Posey, the legendary catcher who helped lead the team to three World Series championships as a player. The club had identified shortstop as being their biggest need and they landed the best one on the market, agreeing to a record-setting seven-year, $182 million deal with Willy Adames, formerly of the Milwaukee Brewers. Adames is a great first addition, but the team could certainly use some more additions to the lineup.
Former GM Urges Giants to Sign Dodgers Star in Free Agency
The San Francisco Giants' roster heading into next season does not meet the standards of a postseason-caliber team. Or, at least, that is what former MLB general manager Jim Bowden had to say on MLB Network Radio. In the eyes of Bowden, who was a GM for the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals, the Giants' front office still has more work to do this offseason.
'Go Dodgers': Snell claps back at Giants fan on Instagram
It didn't take long for Blake Snell to put his Giants tenure in the rearview as he embarks on a new journey with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Like, literally only a few minutes for the former San Francisco ace to post a photo of him in a Dodgers uniform to his Instagram and change his profile picture since the official announcement of the five-year free-agent contract with Los Angeles back in November. The two-time Cy Young Award winner couldn't hide his excitement about joining the reigning World Series champions, whether it be on social media or at his introductory press conference at Dodger Stadium, while stating his decision to leave the Giants for the Dodgers was an "easy" decision. To make matters worse for San Francisco, Snell now is clapping back at Giants fans on social media while mocking them with the worst two words you could possibly say to them: Go Dodgers.

San Francisco Giants Second-Year Youngster Predicted To Be 'Breakout Star'
The San Francisco Giants made a financial commitment to outfielder Jung Hoo Lee last winter. Unfortunately, Lee suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder and underwent season-ending surgery after signing a six-year, $113 million deal. Labrum surgeries are tricky and, often, the last thing any baseball player wants to deal with. While any surgery isn't usually a good thing, labrum surgeries could truly derail a player's career.
Giants' Barry Bonds, Stephen Curry bobbleheads announcement will catch fans' attention
The San Francisco Giants are using a club legend, the greatest shooter in NBA history, and a currently rostered player in their promotional campaign this upcoming season. The team announced that it'll give away Barry Bonds and Steph Curry bobbleheads as well as a Jung Hoo Lee hooded jersey, via NBC Sports' Alex Pavlovic. Bonds, of course, is MLB's all-time home run leader with 762. The 14-time All-Star played in San Francisco from 1993-2007 and also set the single-season homer record with 73 in 2001.
Thairo Estrada guaranteed $4 million in deal with Colorado Rockies
Thairo Estrada is guaranteed $4 million in his one-year contract with the Colorado Rockies and can earn $750,000 in performance bonuses. Estrada gets a $3.25 million salary as part of the agreement announced Jan. 9, and the contract includes a $7 million mutual option for 2026 with a $750,000 buyout. Estrada also gets a hotel suite on road trips.
San Francisco Giants Predicted To Sign Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Champion
The San Francisco Giants will enter Spring Training with a better team than last year. On paper, that's a step in the right direction, but there's still more the Giants could do to start truly competing in a loaded National League West. As currently constructed, they seem to be a Wild Card team, which isn't the worst thing. The NL West is the best division in baseball, and making the playoffs via the Wild Card is all a team needs to potentially make a deep run.
Lee Jung-hoo hopes for healthy year as he returns to San Francisco
Entering his second year as outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, Lee Jung-hoo said Monday he would love nothing more than to stay healthy in 2025. Lee left for the United States on Monday to prepare for his second season in the MLB. Lee was limited to just 37 games as a rookie in 2024, due to a shoulder injury he suffered while trying to make a leaping catch at the outfield wall at Oracle Park in San Francisco on May 12. Lee, who signed a six-year, $113 million contract with the Giants in December 2023, finished his rookie campaign with a .262/.310/.331 batting line, two home runs, eight RBIs and two steals.
Roki Sasaki narrows teams down to Dodgers, Padres, and Blue Jays
The New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants have been informed Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki won't be signing with them. Giants general manager Zack Minasian announced during a news conference Monday to introduce Justin Verlander that San Francisco no longer was in contention. Sasaki's decision to eliminate the Yankees and Rangers was disclosed to The Associated Press by people familiar with the negotiations.
San Francisco Giants 'Shouldn't Forget About' Power Hitting Corner Outfielder
Let's set the record straight, the San Francisco Giants offense in 2025 should be much better than it was in 2024. President of baseball operations Buster Posey made headlines just days into his tenure with the extension of third baseman Matt Chapman. While Chapman will continue to man third base in 2025, he served as the club's best hitter in 2024. Adames has a career OPS+ of 109, and had a 118 mark in 2024, which will force Tyler Fitzgerald off the position and to one he is much more suited at playing, helping the offense and the defense.
Kurtenbach: Top free agent Roki Sasaki said no to the SF Giants. Of course he did
Like every competent team in baseball, the Giants were in on the hot-shot Japanese free-agent pitcher, who, like Shohei Ohtani before him, is limited to signing a minor-league deal with a Major League team. Then again, so did the White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. The Giants cannot land free agents without overpaying the market.
Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki not signing with Giants, team says
The San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees and Texas Rangers have been informed Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki won't be signing with them. Giants general manager Zack Minasian announced during a news conference Monday to introduce Justin Verlander that San Francisco no longer was in contention.
