Gore (6-9, 4.54 ERA) made six starts in July and went 0-2 with a 7.62 ERA but showed improvement in his most recent outing, allowing three runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings while taking a loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks last Wednesday. Snell went the distance on Friday in Cincinnati, out 11 and walking just three as he became the first San Francisco pitcher to throw a no-no since Chris Heston on June 9, 2015. It was the 18th no-hitter in Giants history, and the first time Snell had pitched into the ninth inning in his career.
